Hurricane Katrina Animal Relief Efforts
by Jen Longshaw

Pet flood rescue

Scenes of stranded animals swimming in the bacterial cess pool that was once New Orleans have touched the hearts of pet owners around the world. Although not everyone can venture into the disaster area to rescue abandoned animals there are many ways ordinary animal lovers can help in what must count as one of the worst natural disasters to ever hit the US.

BEWARE THE FRAUDSTERS!

Unfortunately the Katrina tragedy has also brought out many fraudsters and scammers soliciting donations. To avoid being conned always donate to recognised charities and don’t respond to unsolicited emails requesting money. If you suspect fraudulent activities you can file a complaint at www.ic3.gov
